Cannonborough and Elliotborough are often referred to as one neighborhood. The area extends from Septima P. Clark Parkway, Meeting Street, Bee Street/Morris Street to President Street.
Once the site of colonial lumber mills, Charleston’s Cannonborough/Elliotborough district is now an inviting downtown address. The neighborhood's architecture is mostly in keeping with the traditional Charleston single row homes, blending stylish historic and reproduction residential construction. Duplexes are common (divided by floor levels). Located within walking distance of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina Medical Center complex, this neighborhood has become a favorite home for medical students, rehabbers and investors, as well as many local favorite restaurants.
